Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
What is NLP?
NLP is about changing your behaviour to achieve success. Why do we behave the way we do? It is to do with the way we perceive what is going on around us. We take in millions of bits of information per second through our 5 senses, however, we can only process on average + or - 7 bits of information at any one time.
We filter out the majority of sensory input to make sense of what is going on by deleting, distorting and generalising it and then using additional filters of our language, memories, past decisions and values. What is left is our own highly personalised 'model of the world', which is our perceived reality.
In NLP terms, this is called our 'internal representation'. This representation influences our state, be it emotional, physical or mental. Whatever state we are in determines our behaviour and our behaviour determines the results we achieve.
NLP is about achieving your potential in life by ensuring you behave in a way that supports your achievement of your goals rather than sabotaging it. It uses a wide range of methods to help you gain an insight into what makes you behave the way you do.
It provides proven strategies to help you let go of limiting and disempowering ideas about yourself, replacing them with empowering beliefs, which lead to a positive change in your behaviour and enables you to achieve the success you know you are capable of. NLP is used to address a wide variety of challenges from weight management, phobias, dysfunctional relationships and performance management.
It is action-centred and highly focused and has been proven time and time again to achieve results.
